From September 6 to 14, 2025, Padua will host the 5th edition of the International Guitar Festival “Homenaje”—a series entirely dedicated to classical guitar, bringing together internationally renowned performers, composers, and scholars at Barco Teatro and Scuola della Carità.

Organized by Barco Teatro, the Festival offers a rich program of concerts, conferences, and masterclasses, open to both participants and the general public, with a strong focus on the development and enhancement of the guitar repertoire.

Among the distinguished guests are David Russell, Stephen Goss, Lorenzo Micheli, Giacomo Susani, Anna Cavaliero, Marco Ramelli, and Enrica Savigni. A special highlight will be the world premiere of the piece “I asked a thief” by Carlo Galante, commissioned by the Festival for its 2025 edition.

The program also includes two major conferences:

  • IGRC Conference, curated by the International Guitar Research Centre at the University of Surrey

  • Prospettive del Suono, focused on historical lutherie, featuring master luthier Gabriele Lodi

The Festival will conclude with the final concert by the students, during which the “Homenaje” Scholarship will be awarded.
